Paras
Yadav.

I own product roadmaps and delivery for platforms serving five million corporate customers at American Express. Before the MBA I wrote code that reached a hundred and fifty million people. The useful part is the overlap: I can sit between what engineering can build and what the product needs to be, and find the version that works for both.

Prologue

In brief

I'm a product person who came up through engineering. Computer science at IIT Goa, then wallet infrastructure at Paytm that had to work for every active user in the country, then an MBA at IIM Ahmedabad — and now roadmaps, delivery and the arguments in between at American Express. The combination is less exotic than it sounds, but it does mean I rarely need a translator: I can read the constraint an engineering team is describing and the strategy the business is building, and find the version that satisfies both.

What a CV can't hold is the part I care about most. I've been drawing since school, long before I knew what a p-value was. I compete in powerlifting. I've taught mathematics to children who had never touched a computer. None of that fits into a bulleted line, so I built this page instead — and built it by hand, because that felt like the honest way to say it.

Management Trainee — Credit & Fraud Risk

I own Smart Revenue end to end — roadmap, delivery and enhancements for a product serving more than five million corporate customers. The job runs from writing the requirement, to arguing the trade-off with engineering, to making the case to the business. Most of it is deciding what to build when the information is incomplete, then being able to show the reasoning.

  • 80% Auto-resolution rate on an AI copilot I scoped, built and shipped for partner queries — around 10 hours a week returned to the team.
  • $2M Yearly write-off savings from a revenue validation strategy built for the Graphite card launch — named Top Contributor of the Quarter, 1 of 8 among 400+.
  • −90% Latency reduction after leading the migration of enterprise data products to Google Cloud, delivered under full regulatory compliance.
  • $200K Profit-before-tax recovered by tracing a data circularity problem in the Dun & Bradstreet bureau feed to its source and getting it fixed.
  • 120+ Applicants from IIM Ahmedabad scored that year on an interview evaluation matrix I updated for the hiring panel.

Software Engineer — Wallet

My first job was on a system that could not be allowed to fail quietly. Wallet statements go out to every active user in the country, which is a useful way to learn that correctness at scale is a design problem before it is a coding one.

  • 150M+ Active users receiving automated monthly wallet statements, delivered by a three-person team I led.
  • 30+ Critical vulnerabilities mitigated across a legacy codebase, preventing sensitive data exposure.
  • −60% Dashboard load time on an interactive board of 15 KPIs used by five business units.
  • 250+ On-call incidents handled on APIs serving over 5,000 requests a minute.
  • 15 Technical interviews planned and conducted as part of the hiring panel.

Summer Intern — Strategy

A go-to-market problem for a ten-gigawatt energy management platform, which quietly became a data problem. The pricing work was only credible once the sensor data underneath it was.

  • 10+ Competitors analysed across the $15B energy management sector to position the platform.
  • −17% Prediction error on IIoT sensor data imputation — a white paper evaluating 20+ algorithms over 38,000 datapoints, worth a potential ₹18Cr a year.
  • ₹2Cr Per gigawatt per year — a value-based pricing model built from the top cost drivers of a plant across three financing strategies.
  • 7 Distribution channels scored on RICE, resolving into a hybrid strategy for initial traction.

Where to put a physical store, and whether it will pay for itself — answered with foot traffic, interviews, and a break-even model rather than instinct.

  • +20% Sales growth and 40% traffic lift from campaigns run with five influencers.
  • 35+ Interviews and reports underpinning a foot traffic and cost analysis of 10+ target sites.
  • 2 yrs Projected break-even across five prime locations, forecast from capital requirements and ROI.

Off the Clock

The unbulletable part

Under the Bar

District gold, 74kg — a 400kg total across squat, bench and deadlift. One of eleven picked for the IIM Ahmedabad men's powerlifting team at Sangharsh, and one of 230 in the contingent. At Aakrosh I pulled the highest deadlift of the meet at 200kg, across all three weight classes. Powerlifting is the only thing I do where the feedback is completely honest.

On Paper

Second prize at Jaagrang, the district painting competition run by the Dainik Jagran group — the first time someone pinned a ribbon on something I'd have drawn anyway. Second runner-up nationally in the Tata Building India essay competition, plus years of inter-school debate that taught me to make the case out loud. I still draw — and because it has never once been the job, it has stayed good.

In the Classroom

Over 100 community hours teaching basic computing to 250+ students across three remote villages in Haryana and Rajasthan, and mathematics and science to 50+ girls in rural Haryana. Five reading-comprehension sessions for 55+ children at the SMILE centre at IIMA, plus a science workshop in a summer camp for 120 kids.

In the Field

With the Reva Foundation: 1,000+ saplings planted in the Aravallis, a clean-up campaign run with 50 volunteers, PPE and medicine distributed to 500+ workers across Delhi NCR during the pandemic. At IIMA, a blood donation drive for a community of 1,400 that produced over 100 donations.
